This Saturday it’s supposed to be cold.  We’re talking tongue-frozen-to-the-flagpole cold.  Crank-your-car-thirty-minutes-early cold.  And yes…snotcicle cold.

That’s why you need to be at the hottest event in January.  The Summit is hosting our semi-regular volunteer training event called Frontline.  Frontline is the place to be to find out how to get plugged in to one of our many ministry teams; it’s also the place for seasoned volunteers to go to brush up on training and find out what’s next at the Summit.

You can pick from four ministries this weekend: kidslife, StudentLIFE, SummitLIFE, and arguably the best ministry at any church in the galaxy: First Impressions.

Editor’s Note: Would you say that if someone doesn’t already have a ministry where they are serving, then it is without a doubt God’s will that they serve on the First Impressions Team?

Yes.  And for my Spanish-speaking friends, sí.

Let’s pretend for a moment that you surrendered to God’s graces in your life and wanted to be a part of the FI Team.  Here’s the schedule you would want to follow:

  • 8:30-9:00: Breakfast in the Brier Creek lobby
  • 9:00-9:30: Vision casting time from Pastor J.D.
  • 9:30-11:15: Basic First Impressions Training in the Bay
  • 11:30-1:00: Advanced First Impressions Training in the Bay (lunch provided)

Here’s the drill: if you’ve never been to FI Training at the Summit, come to the 9:30 session.  If you are currently a leader and have done the basic training, come to the 11:30 session.  And yes, you can come to both no matter what you’re current serving status is.

No RSVP is necessary for the basic, but please let me know if you’re sticking around for lunch.

See you on the Frontline.
